In general, there are two types of smartphones user, both android and iPhone: the aggressive and the conservative. The latter, they use smartphones as they are. They never do rooting (androids users) or jail breaking (iPhones users) and looking for new experiences. They operate smartphone for its regular functions. On the other hand, the aggressive users will always try to figure out the extra features. They will explore what the smartphones can do. In the process of exploration, they often find features which simplify them in using the phone.
Sometimes, because we don’t know them, we go through difficult path. For that reason, we share the hidden features in iPhone which are unfamiliar for users. Let’s check them out!
- Music Player Timer. If you feel that you fall asleep easily with your iPhone music player on, this feature is very effective for you. It prevents your iPhone battery running out fast. If you set the timer, you will not face the problem anymore. This is how to active it: when you are playing music, open alarm (iPhone main menu) > choose timer > choose when time ends > then choose stop playing (you can scroll it down).
- Delete numbers in calculator. If you can’t find a tool to delete one number in iPhone calculator, then we are in the same page. Actually, you can simply swipe it. Swipe the numbers forwards, then the numbers will be deleted. As simple as that!
- Camera Flash as Notification. Are you jealous with blinking lamp in android? If you are, then you can try this simple trick. Open setting > general > accessibility > choose led flash for alert. After that, whenever you get text messages or emails, your iPhone will blink as notifications.
- Siri Activation Shortcut. If you use Siri regularly, there is another way to activate it instead of press and hold home. You can put your phone near to your ears and it will be active automatically. Of course, it happens if you are already turned on the feature. You can go to setting > general > Siri > activate “rise to speak”. It is available only for iOS 7 and previous versions.
- Saving Your Battery Life Using Greyscale. It is advantageous to save your battery life and the result is satisfying. By activating greyscale features, your battery will last longer. As a consequence, you iPhone display will be in black, white and grey. To activate it, just go to setting > general > Accessibility > activate greyscale.
- Reply messages directly without unlock the screen. If you got iOS 8, it comes with a handy feature. You can do texting activity without opening message application. For example, your iPhone is locked and there is an incoming message, there is no need opening the message or unlock the screen. Just swipe the message to the left and choose reply.
- Reply messages while you’re in an application. When you are playing a game or open other applications, incoming messages can be so annoying. Usually you need to get out from the application to reply it. The latest iPhones provide you a new feature; you can reply them directly without leaving the applications. Cool! Let me give you an example: you are chatting in Facebook, and there is an incoming text, reply it directly by swipe it to the left and press reply.
- Send your location. If you like to travel but, at the same time, you are getting lost easily from the crowd, this one is perfect for you. The iPhone users have simple way to send location to their fellows without an additional application. What you need is just sending a message to your friends. Tell them that you will give your current location immediately. When your friend reply “yes”, choose detail menu on the top right and choose > send my current location. You’re done.
- Share location. The steps are almost the same as sending location through messages. The different is, when you get in detail menu, choose share my location. You can also set the time of location sharing.
- Call Siri from distance. It is a replacement for “rise to speak siri” feature in iOS 8. When you are charging your iPhone, you can call Siri from a distance. To activate the feature, go to setting > general > Siri > activate allow “hi Siri”
- Control your iPhone using your head. Are there anyone say that we can’t operate iPhone without touching the screen? They are so outdated. Even old version of iPhone, like iPhone 4 has the feature. You can open setting > general > accessibility > switch control > switch > choose “add new switch” > choose camera > choose your option about what your iPhone do if you shake your head to the left or right.
- Track location. If you like to go to various places in a short period, it benefits you a lot. It can record your route and you may go home using the same direction. This is how you access it, go to privacy > location services > system services > look at frequent location and check the history.
- Check signal. In a remote area, sometimes, even when the signal indicates three bars, but still you cannot make a call. It is possible that the signal is actually weak. It is much better to see signal strength in percentage. Just type *3001#12345#* in your number pad.
- Password combination. Most iPhone users we met utilized numbers for their screen lock. Actually, there is another way to make the password more complicated. You can combine letters and numbers.
