iPhone x vs Samsung S9+: A few Differences Between iPhone X and Samsung Galaxy S9+

A few months ago, the iPhone X was predicted to be the best smartphone on planet earth. But, the presence of the latest Samsung mobile phones called Galaxy S9 and S9 + might make the people think twice before buying iPhone X. Both of these smartphones are two great flagships that offer thousands of features. Somehow, you have no idea which one to choose. Let us check the iPhone X vs Samsung S9+ so that you will know the best smartphone for you.

Price
First of all, we want to compare the price between iPhone X vs Samsung S9+. It seems that iPhone X is more expensive than Samsung Galaxy S9+. The iPhone X 64 Gb is about $899 while Samsung S9+ 64Gb is in only $750. In term of price, Samsung gets one point because Samsung Galaxy S9+ is cheaper than iPhone X.

Design
Since Samsung S9+ has a thin bezel, so Samsung calls it as"Infinity Display". Moreover, the body wrapped in glass and metal framed feels very luxurious to hold. There are also Midnight Black, Coral Blue, Lilac Purple and Titanium Gray color variants that you can choose. Not much different, the body used on the iPhone X is also wrapped with glass, but on the front of the screen, there is a notch that looks very clear.

Camera
The camera sector also becomes the most important part when we compare between iPhone X vs Samsung S9+. The position of the S9+ camera is in the middle top part which has two cameras including one wide 12MP lens and 12MP telephoto for better zoom and DSLR-style portraits. S9 + allows you to control the intensity of the blur when taking shots. The main lens has a variable aperture that changes from f1.5 and f2.4 depending on the lighting, which helps create brighter shots in low light while retaining sharpness and clarity. Meanwhile,  the front camera has an 8MP resolution with an aperture of f / 1.7.

Now, you can check the iPhone X camera in which the rear camera of the iPhone X is on the upper left side with a 12-megapixel sensor for the rear camera which has two lenses with diaphragm f1.8 and f2.4 and supported images OIS quad LED True Tone flash. With a combination of A11 Bionic and an enhanced camera, Apple introduces the new Portrait Lighting, letting users choose the lighting effect, and a 7MP resolution front camera with an f / 2.2 aperture.

Slow Motion Video
The next difference between iPhone X vs Samsung S9+ is in term of video recording feature. iPhone X has a maximum slow-mo speed of 260fps in Full HD that you can edit in a post. Galaxy S9 and S9 + have a slow-motion feature, which allows you to record videos up to 960 fps in HD quality, but you cannot edit the slow motion part. But, when you record a video 240fps with 1080p quality, you can edit the slow motion part.

Headphone Jack
iPhone X requires you to use dongles for traditional headphones. You can use headphones through the charge lightning port or you can use Bluetooth headphones. The Galaxy S9 + has a 3.5mm Jack port in which its function can be used as a headphone cable connector.

Screen Quality
Samsung is equipped with an AMOLED screen with a size of 6.2 inches and a screen density of 2,960 x 1,440px or 529ppi. In addition, the screen has been protected with the fifth generation Corning Gorilla Glass and carries a current screen ratio of 18.5: 9. Meanwhile, the iPhone X is equipped with a 5.8-inch OLED screen and a screen density of 2,436X1.125px or 458 ppi and it uses a screen ratio of 19.5: 9. It seems that in term of screen and display, both of these flagships have their own superiority.

Finger Print Sensor
The Galaxy S9 + puts the fingerprint scanner on the back of the phone just below the rear camera. This fingerprint scanner can be used to unlock the device as well as for cellular payments. This position is better than the previous generation, the Galaxy S8, which is next to the rear camera. Meanwhile, there is no fingerprint scanner on the iPhone X. So, in term of the fingerprint, Samsung Galaxy S9+ wins it.

Face ID or Face Unlock
The iPhone X has a True Depth front camera that functions to map faces in 3D using an infrared point. Apple says Face ID authentication is even safer than Touch ID authentication on fingerprint scanners. That’s why iPhone X has no fingerprint scanner because the iPhone X prefers Face ID. Meanwhile, the S9 Plus uses Intelligent Scan, a combination of iris scanners and a less secure face recognition feature that uses an uncensored front camera to unlock. So, in term of Face ID, iPhone X wins it.

AR Emoji and Animation
Apple's animojis focuses on several emojis like dirt, unicorns, and others that are available on iOS 11.3. iPhone X gives you several other options to choose from, including turning your face into an animal, Disney character or avatar that you can make by taking a selfie on one of the cameras. Galaxy S9 + has an AR Emoji feature that allows you to have 3D animations on your faces. Even this AR Emoji can be shared with your friends who don't use Galaxy S9 or S9 +. But, after knowing some reviews from users, many of them said that the animation produced was scary, and the movement was not that good. So, in term of Emojis, iPhone X wins it.

Battery Performance
In one charge that supports fast charging and wireless charging, the iPhone X can only last for 11.45 hours. Meanwhile, A 3,500 mAh battery of Samsung S9+ that is supported by wireless charging and fast charging can last up to 1.5 days in one charge. We can say that both of these smartphones are good in term of battery, but it also depends on the usage.

Finally, those are a few differences between iPhone X vs Samsung S9+ that you may need to know just in case you are about to buy a high-end flagship. Both of these smartphones are quite expensive, but you will feel satisfied because it has a lot of cool features.
